Pikaveg is a packaging concept designed to encourage healthy eating habits among children by transforming fresh vegetables into an engaging and interactive experience. Developed in response to the lack of child-focused vegetable snacks on the market, the project combines sustainability, convenience, and playfulness in a solution tailored for children aged 4 to 8. The product consists of ready-to-eat portions of baby carrots, mini cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, or a mixed selection, offering a practical alternative for school lunches and everyday snacking.
Inspired by examples such as the Whiskas Curiosity Box and educational packaging projects, the concept extends beyond food protection by giving the packaging a second life. Made from food-safe waterproof cardboard, the box is stackable, recyclable, easy to assemble, and designed for refrigeration. Once opened, it can be transformed into playful objects such as a spaceship, airplane, robot, or house. A detachable character piece allows children to interact with the packaging, encouraging imagination and extending engagement beyond mealtime.
The visual identity revolves around a cast of vegetable characters, each with its own personality and universe: Tommy Red, the astronaut tomato; CarrotĂn, the adventurous pilot carrot; and Mechano, the cyborg cucumber. Together, they form the Guardians of Flavor, a team dedicated to bringing nutrition to children through storytelling and play. The brand combines the rounded, expressive Baloo typeface with the highly legible Nunito, balancing fun and clarity. Through vibrant illustrations, collectible packaging, and interactive narratives, Pikaveg transforms healthy eating into an educational, imaginative, and sustainable experience.
