This project explores the conceptual translation of John Cage’s 1948 piano solo "In a Landscape" into a visual composition.
The work reflects Cage’s minimalist and meditative approach
to music, aiming to “calm the mind and make it susceptible
to divine influences.”

Through an experimental and speculative process, I developed a thematic panel that visually interprets the mood and underlying ideas of the piece. Core concepts such as mist, nostalgia, and window informed the visual language, guiding choices in color, typography, and composition.
The final graphic piece functions as a conceptual landscape—soft, melancholic, and distant—mirroring the emotional atmosphere of the music. The project emphasizes innovation and abstraction, aligning with Cage’s avant-garde spirit and pushing the boundaries of traditional graphic design.
