This exercise involved the creation of two vector-based illustrations intended for posters, forming a visual series based on a narrative of our choosing. I selected Arcane (Season 1), focusing on its central conflict: the growing tension between
the cities of Piltover and Zaun.
the cities of Piltover and Zaun.
The development process began with identifying key moments and symbols that are representative or pivotal to the series' plot. The first illustration captures the invisible war between the two cities. Piltover is represented by the Council Tower (also known as the Sky Tower), a symbol of power and order, which is visually overtaken by toxic green smoke—a metaphor for Zaun’s underground uprising and industrial aggression.
The second poster centers on the Hextech Core, a powerful and transformative object in the series. The illustration emphasizes the stone’s radiant energy, expanding beyond the frame. The use of intense contrast between the bright blue of the Hextech and
a warm yellow background creates a dynamic and striking visual, evoking the volatile promise of innovation and power
that Hextech embodies.

The pair of posters work in dialogue—one portraying political tension, the other technological potential—visually reinforcing the dualities that define Arcane: control vs. chaos,
progress vs. danger, and power vs. vulnerability.
