This academic project challenged us to create a complete alphabet using everyday materials, exploring the expressive and sculptural potential of letterforms beyond traditional media.
For this work, I chose to use wire—a material I had in abundance at home. Its flexibility and structural qualities made it ideal for crafting a set of fluid, interconnected letters. Drawing inspiration from cursive handwriting and the Art Nouveau movement, I developed a visual language based on organic curves, flowing lines, and ornamental rhythm.
Each letter was shaped by hand, forming a continuous visual thread—a never-ending line of wire—where one form could seamlessly lead into the next. This approach emphasized unity, movement, and the physical embodiment of writing as gesture.
The result is a typographic system that blurs the line between writing and drawing, structure and ornament, function and expression.
